Basic transport info

E-mail Print PDF

The most common concern when considering using any service is what the overall cost is going to be. You can get more accurate quotes by being able to provide detailed information upfront. When comparing auto transport companies, you should be able to tell each auto shipping provider you are comparing the pickup location, drop off location, desired dates, vehicle type, desired type of service, and the type of trailer the vehicle will need to be shipped on. This information will allow each company to give you a base price along with any additional costs for special requests.

Most companies cannot guarantee an exact date when using car transport. The average window for pick up and delivery dates is anywhere from three to seven days. This can be even longer during really busy times. A reliable company will tell you what their date range is and will not guarantee pickup on a certain day. If a company does give a specific date for pickup and delivery, be sure to have it written into the agreement. You can even include a section for a partial refund, discounts, or some other benefit to be provided if they do not meet the specified dates. Be specific on the pickup and drop off locations as well.

Some companies only travel specific routes and may not be able to deliver the vehicle to a specific street address. This is important to know when choosing between auto transport companies. When getting quotes, be sure to find out which companies have specific drop off locations and which ones can offer door to door service. You may have limited delivery options with certain providers. The most common services offered include terminal and door to door deliveries. Terminal service requires you to drop the vehicle off at a nearby terminal where it is loaded and shipped to another terminal near the drop off destination. Door to door may cost more, but provides more convenience as well. With this service your vehicle will be picked up and delivered at specific locations.

Another big consideration is how you want the car shipped. Companies that specialize in car transport offer three basic shipping methods. It can be hauled on an open or enclosed trailer. A vehicle hauled on an open trailer is safe from all hazards except weather conditions. This type of service is less expensive than the other types and is probably the most suitable if you are not concerned about rain or other precipitation. An enclosed trailer provides protection from every element but also costs more. This type of shipping is often used for classic cars or vehicles that cannot be exposed to the weather. If you are concerned about your vehicle being shipping on a trailer, another service often offered is door to door service. With this service, an employee of the company will pick up your car and drive it to the new location. Each service has its own pros and cons. Having an idea of what you need in an auto shipping provider beforehand will increase your chances of having a pleasant and rewarding experience.

Auto Transport Tips

E-mail Print PDF
Everyone wants to be a Auto Transport broker, yet very few want to do the job properly. They all have the same old bullshi!@#$ story. The story is, yes I can move your car for this cheap old price and yes your car is Insured and yes I need a credit card deposit to ship your car. 99% of the time this is a Lie. You the customer are being quoted prices from 1973 when fuel was .67cents a gallon and Insurance was about 90% cheaper. Now that you received this unrealistic quote you think you got a great deal and everyone else is a rip off, and then you book the order and give your credit card number to a fraudster. All I can say is good luck to you. I'll speak to you in 3 weeks after you booked with the scammer and you'll ask for help. You will beg for a great price like the one you received and We wouldn't be able to help you. Reason being the rate is wrong. Example for you is, Today we received an email from a prospect to meet a quote of $725.00 dollars to ship a car from Florida to california. Let me tell you the rate in 1967 was 800. dollars. So how can we compete. Our rate is 1150 for the same transport. How could there be such a differance. Doesn't make sense. Now Dealers Choice Auto Transport might be expensive to you, but that is our price and that is the price with actual insurance. When you rent a car, you can pay 30 dollars a day with no insurance. With insurance the rate goes up to 43 dollars a day. So understand the reality. Insuance has a price and if you want your car moved with insurance then you need to pay for it.

Tip of the day=== Do your homework before you set up your transport. If the price sounds to good to be true, then it probably is... Check out www.Dealerschoiceautotransport.com for fair rates with insurance.

Auto Transport Liars

E-mail Print PDF
Every day We go through the same bullshit of Individuals and New Dealerships calling about their cars being stranded. I can't understand how these truckers just leave cars behind and then lie that the car is loaded and on the way.. We keep getting these calls every day. So to all the people that need to ship their cars. Here is a small word of advice.. STOP LOOKING FOR CHEAP RATES. That's the only issue all of you guys have. If You want people to work for next to no money, then you will get next to no service. By the way, the broker that lied to you about the cost and has your credit card charged for a deposit, will be lying to you all the time and after weeks of working with that liar you will get fed up and call us. By that time, you will not like to hear the true cost to move that vehicle and you will be so pissed because that car could have been moved weeks before. The only one to blame is yourself for looking for the cheapest rate.

In the end, you need to look and see how long the company has been in business. Many of these brokers have been in business for under 12 months and claim they have been in business for years. They all lie. Anyone you hire needs to have a back round check. They say they have the most reliable drivers, now that's a lie. They never owned a damn truck in their lives. Or they talk about the management team. Well big deal. I don't care if Bill Gates owned the company, if they were never in the business, then tell them to go screw themselves and stop wasting your time.

Bottom line is you need to call the company that has the best reputation in the street. I'm not saying that www.Dealerschoiceautotransport.com is perfect, but then again please show me a company that comes even close to them. Or then again please show me any company that's perfect and we will transport your car for free. Last Updated on Tuesday, 26 July 2011 15:30

Transport Tips

E-mail Print PDF

The following car shipping tips will help you to understand more about the steps that are involved in car shipping.

1. Price. The first question you would want ask is “what is the total cost?” Obtain quotes from few car transport and auto drive away companies and then be prepared to provide:

Origination and destination

Approximate exit date

Type of vehicle(s)

Type of car transport service that is desired

Special car transport services if any

2. Payment method. While some car shipping and auto drive away companies might not need payment in advance, others need a deposit (10-25% of the total cost), or full sum in advance. If a deposit is given, sum due is always necessary at time of delivery – frequently with a cashiers ensure or cash. Sometimes a surcharge of 2-3% is necessary when using a credit card with a car transport or auto drive away company.

3. Contract. Read your contract carefully! It is important note! Do not rely on any vocal promises from your car convey company. Ask for a contract clause (in writing) that surrenders the cancellation fee if the car is not picked up by your car transport business within some number of days of the planned pickup date. If you cancel within the allotted window, expect to pay some fee that might differ from $50 to $250. Although most cars are picked up on the planned to date or within a few days of that date, a 1 or 2 week wait may sporadically happen. Your cancellation part should allow for at least a week ahead of planned pickup date.

4. Insurance. Your vehicle(s) need to be insured against damage and theft by your car transport company or any auto drive away. Ask for a real copy of insurance policy coverage. Ask if the carrier’s insurance coverage is primary or secondary to your own insurance in the affair of damage during car transport. Also ask if there is damage deductible – validate all in writing. Also note, which congestion your stalk with heavy items might result in damage to your car’s undercarriage.

5. Saying goodbye to your car. Prior to departure your car with a driver or car transport company, be certain you get an “creative check report.” this report gives pick-up and discharge information, current mileage, and most prominently shows the condition of your car at time of spontaneous, pre-existing scraped and dents, cracked glass/mirrors, universal coat condition, etc. keep this report and use it when you obtain your vehicle.

Good shipping info

E-mail Print PDF

“Have you ever seen a big truck loaded with different kinds of vehicles? It’s called an auto transport carrier. The task of an auto transport company is to provide trucks, facilities, and services for transporting vehicles. It serves people in different areas worldwide just like the auto transport in New York, which offers services and rates that are suitable to your means.

There are two types of auto car transports namely private carriers and for-hire carriers. Both are required to register in the Federal Administration before they are allowed to operate. Their rates and services are cheaper because a lower service charge is given to the middleman, unlike auto transport brokers who coat their services with soaring rates. Another good thing about auto car transports is that they actually own the trucks that provide transportation services to vehicles. Auto car transport also provides your vehicles the insurance, which a broker cannot guarantee you.

Even though acquiring the services of a carrier is advantageous, it is not always sufficient because of some reasons. One is service flexibility. Auto transport companies usually transport vehicles only on a specific route at a definite schedule so only shippers whose itinerary corresponds to their routes and schedules can avail of their services. Carriers also often charge a fixed rate for their services which shippers may find inconvenient. In addition, having a fixed route and schedule does not actually provide a carrier with a large customer base, and their inflexible rates hardly entice many either. For that reason, auto transporters often find it impractical to advertise their business. Instead, they rely on auto transport brokers to provide them with shipping load to transport. In most cases, an auto transport doesn’t deal with shippers but simply relies on a broker to close the deal for them.

While it is true that most carriers have a fixed route and rate, there are some who utilize different routes for your convenience like car transport in New Jersey. To further know about auto transport carriers, here below are some reliable pieces of information so you can choose the right auto transport:

1. First and foremost, ask the company about its transportation method so you can be assured that your vehicle remains untarnished when it reaches its destination.

2. Demand for an auto transport insurance for your vehicle. This protects your interest for your vehicle.

3. All aspects of a car shipping company’s services must be taken into consideration. Its delivery dates should definitely meet your convenience.

4. If your vehicle requires storage whether for a short or long term, make sure the company has storage facilities available that are up to the mark.

5. To know if a transport company is correctly licensed, check the website of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for further clarification.

6. Before you go for any shipping company, check whether it offers time in advance services, and if the shipping is quick and efficient.

7. Verify with the company its assessment services.

8. Finally, choose a company that demands a decent shipping price that is in line with its services. Check three or more companies before deciding.

According to Auto Transport New York, there are many auto transporters out there that don’t need brokers and middlemen. You just need to have discretion in looking for the most reputable service.” www.Dealerschoiceautotransport.com is the one for you.

Guide to Shipping

E-mail Print PDF
Author: Car Transport Prices
July 28, 2010

If you are planning to ship your vehicle, you may be considering how to choose the right auto transporter. It should always be www.Dealerschoiceautotransport.com . When you enquire about auto shipping companies just ask them if they are broker or carrier. Schedule your auto shipping 1 week in advance, giving enough time for car mover carrier to pick up your vehicle. If you are not present, ask your friend, relative to transfer the car to the car mover. Most of the auto transport companies offer door to door service. Sometimes it may be difficult to drive in large truck carrying your vehicle in a residential area. So auto shipping companies tell their customers to drop their vehicle in a terminal from where they will pick up the car. See to it that your vehicle is insured. Before shipping your vehicle, truck driver will inspect your car for any scratches or damages and note it down in bill of lading. This document should be signed by both the parties. Same procedure is followed upon delivery.

Do check your vehicle before signing bill of lading. If you find any damages while unloading you can claim for damages now but not at a later stage. Do not keep personal belongings in the car as it may damage the interiors of the car. Some items like spare tires or car jacks can be found in the trunk of the car but do tie it down properly. When working on the total cost of the shipping, provide information for other things also like origin/destination, departure date, type of vehicle, type of car transport service desired and auto shipping requests etc. Some car shipping companies require certain amount of deposit or full payment in advance. If you make full payment prior to auto shipping service, use a credit card so that charges may be disputed if circumstances warrant such actions.

Do check there license certificate. Do contact local Better Business Bureau as well as verify that the shipper’s license is valid and active with the appropriate transportation agency. It is important you take time to check references and get all services agreed to by the company in writing. If any problem arises with the auto shipping company try to settle it. However if you feel you have reached a dead end or you are not treated reasonably you can file a complaint with multiple agencies (BBB, State or Federal Department of Transportation, Interstate Commerce Commission) as well as seeking legal counsel.
